oh, and it's so crazy
the way we all sabotage
our very own peace of mind.

Not the sports team.

The school.

For people to say that you’re tacky or have no spirit if you wear another team’s shirt when you go to WKU bugs me. As much as I hate UK, I think they have the right to wear a UK shirt if they want. And okay, maybe the week WKU is going to play UK might not be the best time to rep a UK shirt.

But just because you go to school somewhere doesn’t mean that you automatically sign up for the sports team. I know UK fans who go to UofL, and UofL fans who go to UK. I went to WKU for an education, not for the rockin’ (hah) football program we have here. If I were going somewhere for sports, I would have stayed at UofL. Why should I pledge my undying allegiance to a sports team?

Not only that, but people grow up being a UK or UofL fan. I didn’t grow up watching WKU basketball, I grew up watching UofL basketball. Just because I ended up going to school here isn’t going to stop my love for UofL. You don’t get to tell me that I need to show allegiance to WKU’s athletic program. I have no allegiance to a program other than my education.

I think I go to the best school in Kentucky. I love WKU and am so glad I go here. And yeah, I want WKU to win. But I can wear whatever shirt I want.

cheers.
